Thank you for being here. I'm Nikkol, and before I get to know you let me share a little about me ...
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), a Mindfulness-Based Trauma Therapist, Qualifying Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and Certified 400-hr Yoga Instructor offering individual counselling services in BC, Canada who uses the pronouns she/her. Beyond my professional designations, I encompass the role as a mother, loving partner, a friend, daughter, sibling, photographer, yogi, traveler, and, above all, a lifelong seeker of knowledge and wonder.
My deep curiosity fuels my passion for understanding the intricate connection between the mind, body, and spirit – dedicated to helping individuals understand their emotional and physical experience through meaningful conversation and purposeful movement.
As your counsellor, my primary goal is to create a secure, empathetic, non-judgmental, and confidential space for the healing process. Having benefited from mental health support myself, I understand the importance of feeling comfortable in your environment and with your counsellor. I take the time to fully understand your concerns, modify my approaches to your unique needs, and provide the support necessary for you to uncover your strengths and resources.
The process of healing is a delicate and complex journey, and I firmly believe in a collaborative approach. Together, we will uncover the barriers preventing you from achieving balance and vitality while working on your concerns. The ultimate goal is for you to gain a felt sense of security and mastery in managing your overall well-being.

What to Know Before We Meet
This work is meaningful to me, and I deeply honour the trust you place in choosing to engage in this process together. Before we meet, I invite you to take a moment to read through the following notes, offered to support clarity, safety, and shared understanding.
Balancing my practice, family life, and community commitments is important to me, so I see clients on select days each week. This allows me to offer my full presence and attentive care in all my engagements. If my availability doesn’t align, I’m happy to explore options with you.
There are no rules for how to show up in therapy. You don’t need clarity, confidence, or composure — only your presence. By showing up as you are, honestly and even imperfectly, you create space for insight, self-discovery, and deeper understanding. This is where meaningful growth and transformation naturally unfold when you allow yourself to be fully seen.
Therapy is a conversation between you and me. I’m here to listen, offer perspective, and provide guidance, but the work happens through our dialogue. Your thoughts, feelings, questions, and experiences shape the direction of our sessions. Together, we explore, reflect, and uncover insights that can help you understand yourself more deeply, navigate challenges, and create meaningful change.
Therapy is a journey, not a quick fix. It moves at its own pace, shaped by your experiences, reflections, and willingness to engage. Some days bring clarity and momentum, while others feel slower or uncertain — and that’s all part of the process. Therapy is about noticing insights, revisiting them, and integrating them over time. Even the small, subtle shifts matter, and together they create lasting, meaningful change.
Meaningful change doesn’t happen all at once. It grows slowly as you reflect, practice new ways of thinking and being, and integrate insights into your daily life. Each small step matters, and over time, these shifts build a foundation for lasting growth and transformation. Patience and persistence are part of the process, and showing up consistently is what allows deep, enduring change to take root.
Not every session needs to be about deep insights or major breakthroughs. Therapy is also a space to be heard, to share what’s on your mind, and to have your experiences acknowledged and validated. Sometimes simply showing up and being present is enough — and that presence itself is meaningful.
Therapy doesn’t end when the session does. If you’d like, I can provide support between sessions through emails, exercises, or resources. These connections give you space to process what arises, put insights into practice, and feel supported as you navigate what comes up between sessions.
